When adding artwork to your inventory, performing a photo shoot and editing the photos for all media types can be a crucial first task in the onboarding process. Once completed, you will always have your artwork’s photography at your disposal, which will benefit you well into the future.
Our high-resolution artwork photoshoots contain the following images:
- A complete frontal view of the artwork, including and excluding the frame, if applicable
- Four (quadrant) closeups, including the signature quadrant if applicable
- One or two side view closeups of the frame, if applicable
- A complete view of the back, including the frame, if applicable
- Any pertinent closeups, back labels, or back writing closeups
We shoot photo file sizes at around 10MB each and crop to less than 2MB per photo, averaging 1500 to 3000 pixels in maximum height or width. If you are presenting
images for the web, we recommend a subfolder with select pictures optimized for the web to create the best viewing size and load speed.
Photography & Photo Editing
Having photos of all your artwork is a must. We aim to have five to ten nicely lit (without frame shadow) web-optimized, cropped, warped, and skewed images of each artwork framed.
We understand that travel distances, time restraints, and affordability for art photography can sometimes be inhibiting factors when it comes to completing the art photography task. Therefore, we offer Photoshop editing as a stand-alone service; you take the photos, email them to us, and we will crop, warp, skew, and square them perfectly. In addition, provided we receive large enough file sizes, we will provide you with multiple-sized images optimized and squared up perfectly for your web media.
